The true mirror of any academic society is its academic documentation and publications. With this fact in mind an idea was mooted at the inception of the Society itself to bring out a journal on foot and ankle problems and related research as its official publication. So the maiden issue of the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery was released at the First academic conference at Cuttack itself by the doyen of Indian Orthopaedics and the past President of SICOT Mr. K. T. Dholakia on 23.10.1986 since then the journal is being published almost regularly as an yearly issue latter on twice yearly. Its Issue 0970-5708 was allotted by the INSDOC, New Delhi. The journal has been always published on the format of International standard. Though there is only two issue a year, by virtue of its quality and standard it has been approved for indexing in IndMED (vide NIC/MEDLARS/98-2365; August 1998). Through the IndMED it can be indexed at TRC, KMIO, NIMHANS, NIC etc 

The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery (India), the official publication of the Indian Foot & Ankle Society, is a medical journal that emphasizes surgical and medical management as well as basic clinical research related to foot and ankle problems. In circulation since 1986, IJFAS (India) offers peer-reviewed articles emphasizing surgical and medical management as well as basic clinical research related to foot and ankle problems. The journal focuses on the following areas of interest :- surgery, wound care, bone healing, pain management, paralytic management of foot, orthotic systems, diabetes and sports medicine.
